Application for the 2026 Fellowship Exit Exams of the College of Ophthalmology of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa (COECSA), is now open! This is a great opportunity for you to complete your journey to COECSA Fellowship [FCOphth – ECSA] and/or Specialist Qualification.

28th – 30th November, 2026
VENUE/HOST:
1st Session, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 29th – 31st August, 2026 (Standalone)
2nd Session, Kampala, Uganda – 28th – 30th November, 2026 (Preceding Conference)
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
31ST JULY, 2026
ELIGIBILITY AND LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
A medically qualified candidate will be eligible to sit the COECSA Clinical Fellowship exit examination provided;
- He/she is a qualified Ophthalmologist. To provide/attach;
- Proof of successful completion of Ophthalmology Studies i.e. MMed Certificate or formal confirmation letter from the institution.
- Ophthalmology Practicing License.
- He/she is a Final Year Ophthalmology Resident in a COECSA accredited training institution. To provide/attach proof of successful completion of Residency Training, which include;
- Certificate of Completion of Research Requirements (COECSA Curriculum Appendix 5.3.4).
- Certificate of Satisfactory Achievement of the Coecsa Training Milestones (COECSA Curriculum Appendix 5.3.5).
- Certificate of Satisfactory Maintenance of Training Portfolio (COECSA Curriculum Appendix 5.3.6)
- Copy of the final Coecsa Annual Review Form (COECSA Curriculum Appendix 5.3.7)
- Practicing License
- MUST have sat and passed the COECSA Part 2 Written Exam (or ICO Clinical Ophthalmology Exam before June, 2023).
All examinations by COECSA are conducted in English
