COECSA Fellowship Exam 2018.

COECSA Fellowship exams is an exams carried out annually at selected member country. In 2018 the exams was held at Mbarara university & referral hospital Eye centre. The purpose of this examination is to examine candidates who have completed their post-graduate training in ophthalmology and wish to become fellows of COECSA, with all attendant benefits. The examination tests the knowledge, understanding and skills acquired by trainees. It is designed to be as relevant, objective and stringent as possible.
The COECSA uses several different and complementary assessment methods. Success in this examination allows a doctor to become a Fellow of The College of Ophthalmologists of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa. It is useful in assessing oneself against peers in the affiliate colleges as well as increasing ones competitiveness regionally.
The examination is based on the detailed learning outcomes of the curricula of the Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology (M.Med.Ophthal) training courses in the region. Over the years COECSA has managed to register over 250 fellows from members countries. These candidates are able to be examined by experienced ophthalmologists from Eastern, Central and Southern Africa.
